Providing a wine bar and art library, Varnish is also a meeting place for everyone who loves fine art. We believe that galleries should be fun!
Varnish Fine Art is located in the heart of downtown San Francisco at 77 Natoma Street at 2nd Street.
Open Tuesday-Friday 11am-11pm-ish and Saturday by Appointment Only.
The Wine Bar opens weekdays at 5pm. *Please refer to the Events section of this website for closures due to Private Events. We are always open-to-the-public on Fridays.

Original Shorts: Survival of the FittestEach year, Litquake asks authors to create and share short original stories on a common theme. This year, in conjunction with the citywide Evolve 2009 celebration of the life and work of Charles Darwin, Kathryn Ma, Lori Ostlund, Cornelia Nixon, Sylvia Brownrigg, Russell Hill, and Chelsea Martin will write and read on the theme: “Survival of the Fittest.”
